There are two ways you can wind up here:

Innocent: There was a hiccup in the system or you followed a bad link.

Guilty: You (or someone using your IP address) tried to access some part of the site you shouldn't, such as an admin page, or you sent me spam than pissed me off enough to block you. Attempts to probe for website vulnerabilities, sql injections, and the like result in an automatic ban after 1 attempt.
